Let’s lay out this situation. This happens to every one of us during the cold winter nights. Picture yourself lying in bed watching your favorite TV show. You are snuggled in warm and cozy, just having a nice relaxing time. The volume suddenly gets very low and you can barely hear what they are saying. Your remote is on the other side of the bed, buurr. You have to take your toasty warm arms out in to the cold air. But what if you were snuggling with the Snuggie? You would have a soft blanket with arms and have the ability to grab that remote, with out the added hassle. With the Snuggie you are able to stay warm and have to mobility of your arms also while cuddling with a nice soft blanket. What could be better? The snuggie is the best invention ever because of all that it has to offer such as affordability, style, and is also easy to wash.
To begin, I think that the snuggie is the best invention of all time for many reasons; it is very affordable for many people. The Snuggie runs about $20.00 at many different retailers (The Street). For the product that you are getting it is a steal. The Snuggie is also cheaper then most of its competitors. Its most heated rival knows as the slanket, runs at about $30.00 per blanket (The slanket). The sunggie’s marketing strategies has made it very affordable and very easy to get your hands on. Every time you turn on the TV there is some type of snuggie commercial. Bringing them in to the public eye makes it makes it very easy to have to price low because the consumers are willing to buy the snuggie. “Allstar Products Group brought the product to the masses as a value point, making the Snuggie affordable for anyone's budget" (Money central). They are a great present for birthdays, Christmas, and spontaneous gifts. “I was with a friend on evening at a football game and it was quite chilly out. She let me borrow on extra snuggie she had, and at that moment I feel in love with it!!! I just got one for Christmas, it’s so affordable!”(View Point). They are cheap but not in a way that people look at them as the “sock” sort of gift. They are so popular right now; every one wants to get their very own snuggie!
Secondly, the snuggie is very stylish. It’s not your grandma’s scratchy throw blanket. The snuggie comes in a variety of colors and patterns. I myself have a zebra snuggie; I would recommend the snuggie to anyone. My zebra snuggie adds a little something to my plain chair. It comes in such a vast number of colors and patterns that you can pick your favorites. There are many things that you can use your snuggie for. Using the snuggie can make you warm and is also very function while being cute and stylish. “I love it and don’t know how I used regular blankets for anything before the snuggie came in to my life. My husband loves his as well. He got a blue one and I got a pink one. We look so cute sitting next to each other with them on.”(Viewpoints). People love their sunggie’s!
Thirdly, like some blankets that are a major hassle to clean and wash, the snuggie is so easy to wash. Its goes in the machine just like you would put any other article in to be washed. The only added hassle is you can’t dry it you have to hang it up (Answers). With the sunggie being so easy to wash it makes you feel even better about using it repeatedly. You will always want to wash your sunggie in cold water, washing it in hot can result in the bleaching of other clothing in the washer (isitnormal). Having little children with sunggie’s makes it a great gift; they can get food, spill things, and play in them with you as the parent not having to worry about stains. Washing them is a breeze. That’s just one more reason why the sunggie is such a great invention.
On the other hand, like any great invention in comes with its set of cons. Some people think that the sunggie is so ridiculous that the commercials are some type of joke (Ridiculous Infomercial Review). They are very goofy looking when you see people lounging around in them. Many critics say that the sunggie is just a backwards robe with added length. The big selling point is the sleeved blanket; many critics of the sunggie would persuade you to just go out and buy a robe. “It may keep you warm but you look like a complete idiot” (The infomercial fanatic). Every one is entitled to their own opinion about the snuggie.
In conclusion, the snuggie has many more pros to overthrow its few cons. Just like any other product on the market there are going to be people that don’t like them. Everyone gets to decide if they want one or not. For those who choose to purchase a snuggie they will be thoroughly satisfied. The convenience of the snuggie is a hard offer to pass up. You can’t knock the snuggie until you give it a try.
